Being one of the oldest buildings in Mendocino, The MacCallum House is centrally located in the heart of the village.
FROM THE SOUTH: take Highway 101 North to Cloverdale and take the exit marked 128 West, Fort Bragg, Mendocino. This stretch of Highway 128 was written up in Road and Track as one of the top 5 drives in the country. It is a real treat for sports car enthusiasts. You will wind through the Anderson Valley wine country and the coastal redwoods. You might even stop at some of the Mendocino County wineries with tasting rooms right on the highway such as Husch, Navarro, Greenwood Ridge or Roederer Estate. If you don't stop, it will take you about 1 1/2 hours to reach the Pacific Ocean and Highway 1. Go north on Highway 1 on the coast about 12 miles to beautiful Mendocino. Take the first exit into Mendocino. You will pass a Chevron station and the historical Presbyterian church. Take a right and 300 feet up Lansing Street, take your first left onto Albion Street. Go another 300 feet and you will see MacCallum House on your right at 45020 Albion Street. MacCallum House is a 3-story yellow structure with white trim. It looks just like the photos on the website. We have private off-street parking, but you are welcome to park on the street, as it is non-metered and safe.
FROM THE NORTH: take Highway 101 South to Willits. Turn right on Highway 20. It's about an hour to the coast, winding through redwood and fir forests. At the end of the road in Fort Bragg, turn left on Highway 1 and go south (the ocean will be on your right) about 10 miles. At the stop light (yes, there is only one) take a right into Mendocino, you will be on Little Lake Street. At the first stop sign you come to take a left onto Lansing street. Go about 2 blocks to Albion Street and take a right. Go another 300 feet and you will see the MacCallum House on your right.
ANOTHER WAY to come from the north is to take Highway 101 to Leggett. Turn right on Highway 1 and go south. It's about 1 1/2 hours to Mendocino.
FROM THE EAST: take Highway 20 from Williams to Highway 101. At this point you can go north to Willits, taking Route 20 to the coast as above. Or you can go south to Ukiah, and take Route 253 to Boonville, which is the southernmost Ukiah exit from the freeway. When Route 253 ends, turn right onto Highway 128 and continue as described in the first paragraph above. It takes approximately 3 1/2 hours from the Golden Gate Bridge to Mendocino, and 3 1/2 hours from Eureka. Traveling time from the Sacramento area is about 4 hours.
FROM THE AIR: there is a public airport located in Little River, just south of Mendocino called Little River Airport 048. The phone number to the airport in Little River is 707.937.5129. You can rent a car from Coast Flyers, located at the airport by booking with John at 707.937.1224.
